The University of Basra organizes an electronic seminar on the Marshlands Livestock Rescue Boat Project.

The Agricultural Advisory Office at the College of Agriculture at the University of Basra, in cooperation with the Green Climate Organization, organized an online seminar on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at 9:00 PM via Zoom, titled "The Marshlands Livestock Rescue Boat Project."

The seminar aimed to provide a comprehensive overview of the challenges facing livestock in the marshlands and the solutions being implemented with funding from GIZ and Tearfund.

The seminar included promoting innovative local solutions related to central livelihoods, such as agriculture, fishing, and buffalo herding, which can enhance the resilience of local communities.

The seminar recommended taking urgent measures to address challenges and support marshland communities, particularly livestock breeders, by recommending the expansion and replication of the Marshlands Rescue Boat project, as well as providing support by providing vaccines and medicines to combat epidemic diseases, especially those that can be transmitted to humans, such as hemorrhagic fever.
