In a new academic achievement, the University of Basra has qualified for the final round of the Times Higher Education Arab World Awards 2025, under the "Excellence in Teaching and Learning" category, beating out more than 2,000 universities from across the Arab world.

This award is one of the most prestigious educational awards in the Arab world. This qualification represents international recognition of the quality of the University of Basra's academic performance, its excellence in curriculum development, faculty competency, and the application of best practices in the university education environment.

The final winners will be announced at an official ceremony in Amman, Jordan, on November 25, 2025, attended by a select group of academics and decision-makers in the Arab and international higher education sector.
