Professor Dr. Sarmed Ghazi, Dean of the College of Agriculture at the University of Basra, and Professor Dr. Mohsen Abdul-Hay Dasher, Head of the Department of Soil Sciences and Water Resources, participated in an expanded meeting chaired by Mr. Mohammed Al-Battat, Chairman of the Governorate's Agriculture and Water Resources Committee. The meeting was also attended by Professor Hassan Al-Najjar, Deputy Governor for Agricultural Affairs, and Dr. Shukr, Chairman of the Financial and Administrative Committee of the Basra Provincial Council, in addition to directors of relevant departments.

The meeting reviewed the recommendations of the symposium held yesterday at the University of Basra Presidency. It also discussed a set of practical proposals to address the water crisis, including immediate solutions to mitigate the repercussions of the current crisis and long-term solutions focused on the construction of dams and strategic water projects, which would contribute to overcoming challenges and ensuring the sustainability of water resources in the governorate.
