The College of Agriculture at the University of Basra organized a discussion session on the effect of spraying with galangal extract and salicylic acid on the growth and yield of two varieties of green onions.
The session, delivered by researcher Iman Naeem Abdul Hussein, aimed to identify the varieties of green onions. The two varieties differed in their response to the study factors, depending on the genetic makeup of those factors. The local white variety outperformed in some vegetative and chemical traits, as well as quantitative and qualitative yield traits, while the red variety outperformed in most chemical traits.
