
The Women's Affairs Unit at the College of Agriculture at the University of Basra, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit, organized an awareness seminar on "Raising Breast Cancer Awareness: Early Detection, Treatment, and Hope."
The seminar, presented by Dr. Lama Ahmed Abdullah, an oncology specialist in the Department of Internal Medicine at the College of Medicine at the University of Basra, aimed to highlight the importance of raising awareness about breast cancer, as it is one of the most common types of cancer among women.
Dr. Lama also reviewed the latest methods used in diagnosing and treating breast cancer, emphasizing the psychological aspect of breast cancer patients and the importance of family and community support in enhancing hope and achieving positive outcomes during treatment.
The lecturer recommended the need to adhere to annual early screening for women over forty, spreading awareness within and outside the university community, adopting healthy preventive programs that support a healthy lifestyle, and organizing periodic early detection campaigns within the university.
