The College of Agriculture at the University of Basra organized a training course for graduate students on "Biological and Chemical Safety in Research Laboratories."

The course aimed to promote a culture of safety and security in the laboratory environment among graduate students, enabling them to handle chemical and biological materials professionally in accordance with international safety standards.

The course included a lecture delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Adel Qasim Jassim on "Biological Laboratory Management and Types." He reviewed the research laboratory management guide and the mechanisms for handling materials and organisms used in experiments. He also highlighted the most important risks researchers may be exposed to and ways to address and prevent them to ensure a safe and sustainable work environment within laboratories.
