A faculty member from the University of Basra was honored by the Minister of Higher Education as one of the distinguished researchers in the Scientific Research Skills Development Program.

On Sunday, November 2, 2025, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, honored Professor Dr. Ammar Ramadan Al-Tamimi from the University of Basra, along with fifty other distinguished Iraqi researchers, who completed the Training of Trainers (TOT) program. This program is part of the Scientific Research Skills Development Program, implemented in cooperation with Clarivate, the Egyptian Knowledge Bank, and the Federation of Arab Scientific Research Councils.

The honoring took place during an official ceremony held by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Baghdad. Certificates of participation and appreciation were distributed to the researchers who completed the training program, which aims to empower researchers and develop their research capabilities according to the latest international standards and practices.

In his address at the ceremony, the Minister praised the importance of such programs in enhancing the quality of scientific research at Iraqi universities. He emphasized that developing researchers' skills is a crucial step towards improving academic and scientific output at both the national and international levels.

For his part, Dr. Al-Tamimi expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the University of Basra for their continued support of researchers, emphasizing that this recognition serves as an incentive to continue research efforts and contribute to raising the profile of the university and Iraqi scientific research in international forums.
