The College of Agriculture at the University of Basra organized a seminar on strategic crops.

The seminar, presented by Dr. Zainab Ahmed Abdul Razzaq, aimed to introduce strategic crops and the criteria that define a crop as strategic.

The seminar also covered crop classifications, information on wheat productivity, and the areas cultivated with this important strategic crop in the region. It emphasized the need for studies to improve productivity by increasing the quantity and quality of strategic crops to ensure food security and support the economy. This would strengthen the local economy by increasing production and exports, enabling it to meet challenges and adapt to climate change and the harsh weather conditions affecting the region.
