The Department of Horticulture and Landscape Engineering at the College of Agriculture, University of Basra, welcomed its new students admitted for the 2025-2026 academic year in a special welcoming ceremony.

The reception was held under the direct guidance of the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Sarmad Ghazi Mohammed, and in the presence of the Head of the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Engineering, Professor Dr. Mohammed Abdul-Amir Hassan Al-Najjar, and several faculty members.

The event aimed to introduce the new students to their new academic environment. During the ceremony, the department's academic output and career prospects after graduation were explained, and the nature of the curriculum and courses were reviewed. An open forum was also provided to foster positive communication between students and faculty members. This initiative serves as a prelude to the start of a new academic year, fostering an atmosphere of camaraderie and a shared commitment to achieving success and excellence.
