The Department of Animal Production at the College of Agriculture, University of Basra, organized a scientific visit for second-year students to the veterinary hospital in the Al-Mashraq Al-Jadeed area, accompanied by Dr. Falah Abdul-Muhsin Abdullah and Dr. Zainab Ali Kadhim.
The visit aimed to familiarize students with the hospital's laboratories, such as the microbiology, pathology, and artificial insemination labs, and to allow them to view samples of pathogens affecting farm animals. They also learned about equipment such as the ultrasound machine, which is used to detect pregnancy in animals and some internal tumors.
The visit also included a tour of the hospital's outpatient clinic, where students observed some animal cases and how certain treatments were administered. The students recorded several important scientific observations.
