The College of Agriculture at the University of Basra organized a field trip for third- and fourth-year students to the Iraqi Animal Feed Production Plant in the Safwan area. The trip was supervised by Dr. Hanaa Ali Jabbar, Dr. Rabia Jadou Abbas, and Dr. Tariq Ibrahim Majeed.
The visit, part of the department's plan to enhance students' practical experience, included an introduction to the latest technologies used in feed production. Students learned about the process from inspecting and receiving raw feed materials, through milling and precise mixing, to heat treatment and pelleting.
This initiative underscores the College of Agriculture's ongoing commitment to building bridges of cooperation with the private sector and productive projects in the governorate. This collaboration aims to develop the skills of future agricultural engineers and prepare them for the job market.
