The University of Basra is holding a seminar entitled "Social Media and its Impact on Family Relationships"

The College of Agriculture at the University of Basra held an awareness seminar on "Social Media and its Impact on Family Relationships."

The seminar was presented by Ms. Alia Abdul Zahra Ali from the Department of Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance, and Dr. Khawla Hamza Mohammed, with the attendance and supervision of Dr. Huda Falih Saad, Head of the Women's Affairs Unit.

The seminar addressed the growing effects of social media platforms on family structure, highlighting the challenges these platforms can cause, such as weakened direct communication, increased conflicts, and a decline in family cohesion due to excessive or unconscious use.

The seminar also discussed the psychological and social aspects related to individuals' online behavior, the impact of digital content on shaping values ​​and behaviors within the family, and reviewed the most prominent potential risks, such as digital addiction, social isolation, and the role of social media in strengthening or weakening family bonds.
