A select group of professors from the Field Crops Department at the College of Agriculture, University of Basra, participated in the Third International Scientific Conference on Agricultural Sciences, organized by the College of Agriculture at the University of Karbala from December 22-23, 2025, under the theme "The Role of Sustainable Agriculture in Addressing Climate Challenges and Enhancing Food Security."

The participation included the presentation of several rigorous scientific research papers within the framework of sustainable agriculture. These papers focused on finding scientific and practical solutions to address climate change and ensure the sustainability of food resources. The college was represented at this international event by Dr. Sundus Abdul Karim Mohammed, Dr. Lamia Mahmoud Salman, Dr. Rawafed Hadi Qasim, Dr. Abdul Amir Rahim Obaid, and Dr. Sabreen Hazem Abdul Wahid.

This participation reflects the University of Basra's commitment to strengthening scientific cooperation with Iraqi and international universities and exchanging academic expertise in the field of agricultural sciences. Attendees commended the research findings, emphasizing their importance in the agricultural sector to combat water scarcity and desertification.
