The College of Agriculture at the University of Basra organized a seminar on "An Environmental Study of Zooplankton in the Kutayban Canal, Southern Iraq."

The seminar, presented by researcher Mahmoud Abdul Zahra Jaloub, aimed to determine the diversity and density of zooplankton, study some environmental factors, and compare them across different stations.

The seminar included measuring the physical and chemical properties of the water and determining the presence and density of zooplankton.

The seminar also recommended strengthening environmental monitoring, expanding biological studies, reducing pollution, raising environmental awareness, and supporting the sustainable management of water resources. These measures contribute to protecting biodiversity, improving water quality, promoting scientific research, and developing sustainable future environmental plans.
