The College of Agriculture at the University of Basrah achieved first place in the 2025 national ranking of academic departments across all Iraqi universities, securing first place with six departments and second place with two others. This unprecedented achievement underscores the college's leadership and excellence in quality standards and academic performance.

This qualitative superiority is a result of the direct and continuous support from the University of Basrah's administration, represented by the University President, Professor Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kadhim Al-Asadi, and a culmination of the strategic plans spearheaded by the Dean of the College of Agriculture, Professor Dr. Sarmad Ghazi Mohammed Al-Shawi. The accomplishment also reflects an exceptional synergy of efforts between the academic departments and administrative units, with the active participation of all college staff, including professors, researchers, and employees.

The Dean of the College of Agriculture expressed his sincere thanks and deep gratitude to all faculty members and staff for their outstanding contributions that led to this significant victory, wishing them continued brilliance and success.
