Dr. Rashad Adel Omran, a faculty member at the College of Agriculture, University of Basra, participated as a member of the committee discussing the Master's thesis of researcher Nawras Saleh Hassan at the College of Agriculture, University of Muthanna. Her thesis was titled "The Effect of Soil Application Levels and Spraying with Nano-Cheaped Potassium on the Availability and Absorption of Some Elements and Potato Growth and Yield."
The study aimed to utilize nano-fertilizers to reduce the use of mineral fertilizers and, consequently, the pollution resulting from their application.
The study recommended that adding or spraying chelated nano-potassium on both the plant and the soil, at half the recommended fertilizer dose, led to an increase in potato crop yield.
