
Dr. Farqad Murtadha Hamid, a lecturer in the Department of Agricultural Machinery and Equipment at the College of Agriculture at the University of Basra and the College's Rehabilitation and Employment Officer, participated in a workshop at the Basra Chamber of Commerce's Business Information and Development Center, titled "Challenges, Opportunities, and Opening New Horizons Towards Promising Economic Development." The workshop was held in cooperation with the German organization BBW.
The workshop discussed the most prominent economic, social, environmental, and legal challenges facing entrepreneurs and startups, including weak infrastructure, a shortage of skilled labor, climate change, water scarcity, bureaucracy, and weak governance.
The BBW team praised the Chamber's efforts, emphasizing the importance of dialogue in formulating solutions. The Chamber will also organize courses to support the capabilities of traders and small businesses.
