A master's thesis at the College of Agriculture at the University of Basra examined the design and manufacture of a self-propelled single-line vegetable planter and its field performance testing.

The thesis, submitted by researcher Ahmed Abdul Hadi Abdul Sayed, aimed to develop an efficient machine for automated vegetable seedling planting, which would reduce human effort and improve the efficiency of planting operations.

The study included a field experiment to test the machine's performance, using three different planting depths (40, 80, and 120 mm) and three forward speeds (0.85, 1.3, and 1.75 km/h), on two types of soil.
