The College of Agriculture at Basra University held a seminar on the biological assessment of the Khor Al Zubair Canal in southern Iraq.

The seminar, presented by postgraduate student Ahmed Majid Hammoud (Master's student), aimed to study fish diversity in the canal and the impact of environmental factors, examine seasonal fluctuations in fish density, identify fish species and their abundance, and study monthly changes in some environmental parameters such as water temperature, salinity, pH, dissolved oxygen, and light penetration.

The seminar included a study of the fish biodiversity in the canal, in addition to measuring some environmental parameters such as water temperature, pH, salinity, dissolved oxygen, and light penetration.
