Basra University explores joint cooperation with Teacher Training University in Tehran

The University of Basra, represented by the Deans of the College of Engineering and the College of Agriculture, discussed potential areas of cooperation with Iran's Tarbiat Moallem University, a specialized postgraduate institution, during an introductory workshop attended by faculty members and students from both universities.

The workshop aimed to strengthen the bonds of scientific and academic cooperation between the two universities.  It included a video presentation showcasing the Iranian university's laboratories and facilities, along with a detailed explanation of the available master's and doctoral programs, opportunities for conducting practical research, performing scientific experiments, and publishing research in reputable academic journals.

The workshop also addressed opportunities for joint research supervision between faculty members and facilitated discussions on enabling students who have completed the theoretical or research component of their studies to pursue the practical component at the partner university's facilities.

Both sides emphasized the importance of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the University of Basra and Tarbiat Moallem University in 2022, which is valid for five years.  This MoU serves as the legal framework for ongoing cooperation, encompassing faculty and student exchange programs, joint research projects, and strengthening laboratory infrastructure.

At the conclusion of the workshop, the participants agreed to draft a preliminary memorandum outlining priority areas for cooperation in the coming period, thus contributing to advancing scientific research and fostering academic exchange.
