A doctoral dissertation at the University of Basra explores methods for combating Fusarium wilt disease in tomatoes.

A doctoral dissertation at the College of Agriculture, University of Basra, investigated "Evaluating the Synergistic Effect of Manufactured Organic Fertilizer and the Biofungus Trichoderma in Controlling Fusarium Wilt Disease in Tomatoes."

The dissertation, presented by student Mohammed Abdul Hassan Barisim, aimed to isolate the fungi from different agricultural areas and test their enzymatic activity in producing compost.

The study included the use of compost with the biofungus Trichoderma as an alternative to chemical control. The dissertation concluded that using compost with Trichoderma is effective in controlling plant diseases.

The dissertation recommended guiding farmers to use compost with Trichoderma in controlling plant diseases.
