A master's thesis at the College of Agriculture, University of Basra, explores techniques for propagating banana plants and improving their tissue culture quality.

A master's thesis at the College of Agriculture, University of Basra, entitled "The Effect of Nutrient Medium, the Growth Regulator Zeatin, and Vitamin B5 (Pantothenic Acid) on the Growth of Hybrid Banana Plants Using Plant Tissue Culture Technology," was investigated.

The thesis, presented by researcher Nidal Abadi Hussein, aimed to evaluate the effect of nutrient medium type, the growth regulator zeatin, and vitamin B5 on improving the growth and tissue culture propagation of hybrid banana plants.

The study included a comparison between two nutrient media and an examination of the effect of different concentrations on branch formation, elongation, and rooting, as well as the analysis of the active compounds using gas chromatography and infrared spectroscopy techniques.

The study recommended adopting the best treatments for expanding commercial propagation and conducting further applied research.
