Dr. Wael Ali Sawadi, a faculty member at the College of Agriculture, University of Basra, participated as a member of the committee that discussed the Master's thesis at the College of Basic Education, University of Maysan. The thesis, titled "Synthesis and Characterization of Silver Nanoparticles in Chitosan via Chemical Reduction and Study of Some of Their Biological Activities," was presented by student Maryam Ali Abdul.

The study aimed to synthesize silver nanoparticles via chemical reduction and fix them in a commercial and locally produced chitosan matrix extracted from catfish scales. This was done to enhance the nanoparticles' stability and to study their biological and antibacterial applications.
