Assistant Professor Dr. Qutaiba Jassim Ghani, from the College of Agriculture at the University of Basra, participated in the defense of a Master's thesis by student Baydaa Jabbar Nabat Al-Saad, from the College of Education/Al-Qurnah at the University of Basra.  The thesis was entitled "A Study of Some Biochemical and Histological Characteristics of Red and White Muscles in Two Hybrids of Ross 308 and Local Chickens."

The aim of the thesis was to investigate the effect of histological and biochemical characteristics on the meat quality of the two chicken hybrids (Ross 308 and local chicken).

The study included measuring the number and diameter of muscle fibers, estimating the total protein concentration in four muscle regions, and determining the ratios of amino acids and fatty acids.
